Re: Attencion 440 Experts

Paul, what are you using for gas and are you having any detonation? Are yor new pistons at 0 deck height and are they flat tops? Are those 906 heads at the stock combustion chamber cc's or been milled? My build will be similar to yours with the 906 heads, but will be a 413. My 440 is a 73 or 74. It had stock 906 heads on it and had been warmed
up a bit by the previous owner (cam & intake). I put in a set of KB
pistons which bumped the compression to @ 10:1 and had the heads ported.
The increased compression REALLY woke that motor up. So make sure that
is in your plan. (note: my stock pistons were @.140" down in the hole.)
