Re: carb size

I run an 850T@ on my 340 Dart. The average cfm for your motor is usually 750cfm and you can add cfm when you have a larger cam, four speed, lower gears...but I would use a 750cfm carb to start with.

I think they were 750's. 600 is definitely
small. I run an 800 on my 69 383.

Can anyone tell me the carburetor cfm rating on a 68 383 335 hp motor? That is what is in my 65 Coronet. I am currently running a 600 cfm Edelbrock Perfomer AVS with aluminum intake, headers, 284/284 ?camshaft and electronic ignition, and 4:56 gear. The intake is an ancient Edelbrock dual plane (25+/-year old). Should I go with a bigger carb?
It seems to flatten out in 4th gear..........Warren
