Jack,,,,,,,, I think you have to take each item separately I do not think  
that there is just a common rule for it, I believe that there will be no 
gaskets  any time there are parts that concern body alignment such as doors to 
fenders,  or fenders to hood, but just about everything that is bolted to 
them such as  lights, mirrors, door handles and such will always have a gasket 
which serves as  a dual purpose to keep water out and squeaks away,,,,,,,
