Re: 426 block was (Re: test and tune)

Somewhere in the conversation it was stated that only 10 426 wedge cars were built? I ordered a 64 Polara 500 in 1964 with the street 426 with a 4 speed and Detroit locker 4.10 gear. It wasn't competitive with the 409's  and the 421 pontiac's that the farm boys had and street raced. It was competitive after a cam change and headers. I blew out several clutches and spun a rod bearing which cost me dearly. After the new short block and more head work and the addition of two four barrel carbs it was a bear and won many street races as well at the track.  Just one of the  many i've owned that got away.... Oh well life goes on.

come about until the 65 models, sorry, I stand corrected,,,,,, dodger
