Below is what Brian wrote for those who could not see it. I agree that sometimes blank email is a "plain text" issue, but other times I suspect it is some setting in an e-mail reader that clashes with the settings sent with the email by Topica.

Please address private mail -- mail of interest to only one person -- directly to that person.  I.e., send parts/car transactions and negotiations as well as other personal messages only to the intended recipient, not to the Clubhouse public address.
