If it does turn out that your float has a hole in it, you can go to a 
Ferd dealer and get an almost exact replacement.  I walked in with mine 
and didn't even have to explain what I was doing.  the parts guy took 
one look at what I had and went back and got one.

Please address private mail -- mail of interest to only one person -- directly to that person.
