Re: headliner

Thanks Dave, after finding out what these rear bow clips look like, I did find that I had them and didn't know what they did. Good thing I save everything :-)

Now what I am asking about, is there some kind of clips that go on the ends of the other bows, possibly to keep the headliner in place? I know the bows go into little pockets in the side "sawtooth" bracket. The reason I ask is because the clips were mentioned in a "how to" artical. That artical was not year specific. May be for something later. Any more info? ..Thanks.........MO

Hi Mo,
In answer to your question for the rear most headliner bow clips, (“does my car need those clips and what do they look like?”) - Yes - you will need them. You said you found the bows lying lose in the trunk. When the person removed the bows from the old liner, he almost certainly would have had to take at least one clip off the bow end in order to pull the bow wire out through the headliner loop. A conscientious person should have placed it right back on so as not to lose it. Even so, these clips do not grip the wire all that tightly so my thought is you just might be lucky enough to find one or both somewhere in the trunk area. Like down in where the trunk floor drops-off at the quarter panel, or back around the tail panel/taillight framing area? They’re worth a good hard look all around. And what do they look like? Appearance wise, (a flagpole holder?) they remind me of the old 90-degree spark plug wire clips we used to use to make our own custom length wires (remember that?). If those are still made these days, you might be able to modify a pair of those to use (?).
Hummm?

Hello there! On my 64 Dodge B body 2 dr hdtp--. My headliner bows were not
installed when I got it. I figgered where the bows go and with help from
list members, found out about how the back bow attaches to the sides. A 4
door shares those two little "flag pole holders" I was reading a" how to
"artical on Installation. and it said to install the clips on each end of
the bow when tightening the material. Does my car need those clips and
what do they look like?? In the past I have seen on e-bay headliner clips
. But I didn't know if I might need them Any info will be
appreciated..............MO
