Dear Zack and Ileana:
No big deal to just re-build your ball and trunnion. Parts are available on eBay and elsewhere (Atlas Obsolete Parts, I  think).
Your shop manual has the exploded view and re-building steps pretty clearly outlined. You can do it yourself or just take the shop manual and parts to
just about any reputable shop and they can knock it out for you. Also, try SMS in Camby, OR for your front seat upholstery needs.
