Don the bell shaped sender is definitely the wrong one for a light. It
actually creates a ground for the gauge when the pressure builds up and will
turn the light on instead of off. The one you want is like the one pictured
on eBay # 370327121097. As far as I know it doesn't matter what engine you
have, they all took the same sender.

Roger: I think you and Dan are on to something: the senders I have are
perhaps all for electric gauges, not the light!I have two that are the
larger bell shaped and one a bit smaller. One is just off ebay, clearly
represented as an "oil light sender". The other two I have were off a 67 440
and a 64 413. I have seen the much smaller sender Dan may be referring toon
a 64 225 slant six I had. Is that also correct for a big block idiot
