When you look at basic component cost for 273. Egge Pistons will run between $300 & $500. Carb, $100-$200. Cam/Lifters $200. Other basic components you change when rebuilding, oil pump, rings, pushrods, gasket kit, fuel pump, etc, probably another $400-$500.

Machine work: Avergage between $750-$2000 depending on what you have done. Hardened seats added to heads, add even more.

My 273 build, was about $2500 in total and growing.
