Subject: Progress on my 64 Fury

I got the old beast running better, after cleaning and re-gapping the plugs, and tinkering with the Holly carb. I actually took it out on the road for a test drive. After refilling the torque converter, I put in 2 1/2 qt. of tranny oil and it still is low on trans fluid. ( I ran out of more) It still does not run quite rightIt its hard to tune with open headers and 1000 idle rpm cam. The tranny shifting is erratic I don;t know if it is because of being low on TF or because I dont have the shift down linkage hooked up. I know I don't like the B&M ratchet shifter! I have located a 65 T flite cable shift tranny locally and it would have the slip yoke output shaft. . The Holly accelerator pump barely dribbles in some gas , so I will have to experiment with some different acc. pump cams to get a better shot. .........................MO
