Re: Progress on my 64 Fury...Kickdown linkage



You make the adjustment on the kick down rod by opening the throttle fully, then adjust rod so that at full throttle you have the trans kickdown lever fully back. If this adjusted to far forward you wont have full throtlle. If not enough then at full throttle the trans lever isnt fully pushed back. When the throttle is at idle the rod should be loose. then you hook up the throttle return spring and it pulls the rod to the carb . Open throttle fully and rod should push lever all the way back at full throttle.
