Re: 66 or later K-member in 64 SF?

Did it on my 63 Fury and installed a 6.1L MP crate engine.  All I had to do was cut two slots in the back of the cross member bend the flap down, re-drilled the mounting holes, welded two triangular pieces in for support works great!  The only slight problem I have encountered is the closeness of the engine to the firewall, but there is nothing insurmountable, just tight working conditions .  Dodger hit the nail on the head as far as advantages.  The 66 K frame I used moved the engine back almost two inches.

Hello,

I have a friend who is getting ready to start work on his 64 Sport
Fury.  He wants to put in a 66 or 67 K member.

Will this work?

I seem to remember something about it moving the engine back an inch
or two but not sure.

What other complications will he have if he does this?

What is the advantages of doing this?

Thanks
Dennis C.
