Seeing the '65 Coronet A990 clone project for sale made me think of my Coronet. It was a $500 auction special, intended as a winter beater. Car was rough. Well, got it home and got the "rat rod" bug, I guess you could say. Everyone said you can't rat rod a '65 Coronet, it just wouldn't work. Well, we think it did. This is what a grand total of $1,500 (including purchase price) and a couple weekends work gets you:

And that spawned this:

My Dart was supposed to be just one step up from these.... But it's gone a little past that now... :P

The Coronet was powered by a poly/auto, whereas the '57 Plymouth was a built 225 running a 4-spd stick. The '57 was also almost 10x the price to get to that point. But all the running gear, etc was done. It was a slough car that I spent 3 days welding on to salvage.

Please address private mail -- mail of interest to only one person -- directly to that person. That is, send parts/car transactions and negotiations as well as other personal messages only to the intended recipient, not to the Clubhouse public address. This practice will protect your privacy, reduce the total volume of mail and fine tune the content signal to Mopar topic. Thanks!
