Steering Wheel Puller(Now the rest of the Story)

Hello BAM Fans,

Yesterday was busy to say the least. A lot of yard work and football.

I decided to finish pulling the steering wheel about half time during  
the Nebraska game. With the TV in the garage on and everything was ok  
until I right before the wheel popped off. I got so wrapped up in the  
game I for got to turn the nut about a 1/2 to 1 full turn to remove it  
before popping the wheel off. I turned the puller about a 1/4 turn  
with the nut still attached. I was hardly applying any pressure at  
all. Now the nut appears to to have the final threat, the shaft  
likewise, stripped or out of kilter. The shaft head does not seem to  
be mushroomed.

My question is what size nut, internal diameter, and number of  
threads? I know it takes a 3/4 inch wrench but I can not find the  
shaft and thread count in my 1965 Parts Book.

The part number shows up as 145-032, found the number under 19-30-0  
sub section 19-30-18. When I check the Standard parts Section (page  
18-4), It show several hex Nuts but this part number is not listed  
under any of the hex nuts, nor is the washer. My washer is ok. So I do  
not know the diameter and number of threads per inch.

Where can I get a new nut, any parts store?, and what size Tap and Die  
do i need to use to clean up the threads on the end of the post.

Any advise is good advice.
