4th Annual Halloween Classic Car Show

The Houston Mopar Connection Club's 4th Annual Halloween Classic Car Show was Saturday, 10-22-11. It is an open show benefiting charity. 154 vehicles were entered in the show. Six 1962 to 1965 Mopars showed up. If I heard right, the "Vanishing Point" 1965 Dodge runs in the high 8's and has never been registered since new, always a race car. The nice black 1964 Fury just got put back on the road from the body shop. The owner was at a drag race event 6 months ago and at launch could not get enough traction. He kept on it and the Plymouth about 1/3 down the track swerved a little, caught traction, and did a quick right turn into the cement barrier at the edge of the track. OUCH! The owner was not hurt, thank goodness, except for emotional and pocketbook pain.

Other than that a lot of fun iron was there. The 1958 Plymouth Fury has a 2x4 392 Hemi in it and was showroom new. Beautiful job. There was a black 1960 (I think) black Morris Minor done up as a street rod with functional roll cage and a V6 engine. Very unusual. Many vehicles were decorated for the Halloween theme. The red Porchse dressed up in "Angry Birds" costume was clever. Lots of plush toy spiders and fake cobwebs. :) Fun event.
