Higher octane??

Now I think know the answer to this question, but I'm gonna ask it any way.  Should I be running higher octane gas in my 440?  It's a 1970 engine with a bit of a cam, new rings, and stock heads with high rise exhaust manifiolds.  It's in my 65 Polara.

The reason I ask is cuz it just dosen't seem to have the balls I think it should have.  I run 87 octane gas in it.  The highest octane you can get here in Canada is 91, I think.  The reason I've been running this low octane crap is cuz gas is quite steep in price.  $1.16 per liter, that's $4.40 per gallon.  And that's the cheap crap.  I think premium gas is like 10 cents more per litrer.

Having said all that, should I start buying premium gas or just put some octane boost in with every fill?  Or should I do both?  Also, am I hurting my 440 by running a lower octane?  I had a few other questions but I forgot what they were.  DAMN!!
