1962 Newport. I have a new gas tank and sender I am going to install.
The first obstacle was the fuel gauge wire is a different hookup than
stock. I can change that I guess. My questions are does the sender or
tank have any kind of a ground wire? I would think so but I don't
remember the old tank having one? Second I see a vent tube running
beside the tank and ending at the rear. Is there a rubber line or
anything that goes to it and where does it end?

there is usually a ground clip around the short piece of rubber that connects the tank to the fuel line.

it has a claw on each end
