Re: Re: Collector Car Insurance Question

My son and me have Haggerty Insurance. 1961 Corvette, 1965 Dodge Coronet 500 & 1969 Plymouth Roadrunner.

Insured for stated value.

Have had their insurance for many years, no problems.

This is probably covered at the link Gary provided below, but I'll re-iterate it...Make sure to ask about their "pleasure use" policy along with how many miles you are allowed per year. Some companies only want you to go "to and from a show or event". Make sure you are allowed to "just go out for a drive". If pleasure driving is not allowed and you have an accident, they will likely not cover the incident.

Also make sure that it's an "agreed value" policy..ie you say it's worth a (reasonable) $22,000, and they basically say "OK" and give you a rate for that value.

There are some general insurance considerations posted at the bottom of this page:

One thing is to consider why you drive. Some insurance co's only allow use for "club events, parades etc.," and frown on just cruising for fun on a weekend or any drag racing. Boo

Thanks,
