Switch to Aftermarket Trans Cooler?

I noticed a little bit of emulsion in my pan, probably just from
condensation. But this got me thinking that one day the coolant may
break through to the trans side of the rad and bye bye trans.

I've heard of that happening. Is something that culd happen in our
cars? And while I'm fooling with everything should I switch to an
aftermarket cooler? Are they reliable?

Thanks.

and if no one noticed: "Anyone know what size the o-ring is?" For the
selector cable.
