you could pull the heads and send them to the local machine shop to have hardened seats installed and that would solve your problem, on reassembly use something like a Fel-Pro instead of the steel shim.

The absence of the tetraethyl lead in the available gas today will eventually bang the valves into heads and the heads will have to come off anyway.
