Re: Easy Brake question

I have seen them done without one and under regular driving conditions work.  BUT, in an panic situation you will wish you had one!  In a situation like that your rear brakes will lock up causing you to probably loose control.  Additionally, I have seen people convert to a duel master using just a block that essentially was a waist of money because any line breaks all the fluid goes out the hole/break.  You can install one anytime, it would just be less messy before!!  For your safety I would, you would then separate front and rear systems so if you have a issue in one of the systems the other system will still allow you to stop.

Subject: Easy Brake question

Do ALL discconversions with drum rears HAVE to have a proportioning
valve?  If so, I would like to install one in the brake line  before I
put brake fluid in.  I would rather not have one unless it is
necessary. ............................MO
