Re: AC

Looks great, David.  I see you have the hard to find courtesy lenses.  I have those, too.

What experience does any one have with 1964 original AC compressors?
The Compressor tries to kick in but may be frozen?

The car is pretty much finished now inside and out with all new paint, interior, suspension, new seals, gaskets, new AM radio and speaker, etc. etc., just a a few pesky mechanical things.
I read all the posts about the right color under the hood, but elected black just because I did not want to pull the engine and trans. Maybe will consider that later although should have been done first.
I guess one can always find something to do. I have the dash back from Dash Specialties in Medford, OR  and he did a nice job at $100 less than Just Dashes and only took a couple weeks to get it done. I will put that in next week. Thanks for the recommendation.
I had quite a hassle with Legendary because the front carpet was too short. It took almost 3 weeks for them to resolve it after sending numerous photos and measurements, as well as dozens of emails and phone calls. Legendarys supplier would not acknowledge the mistake, and Ledgendary wanted 3 more weeks beyond the 3 weeks they wasted and I said no. They ended up giving me the carpet and refunded my money. Very fair I thought although it took a long time to resolve. They Upholstery shop cut the needed material off the back carpet and did a nice job joining it with a leather bead of which it is under the front seat and does not show except at the side of the front seat.
No drips on the garage floor is a nice thing to finally see also.
Now I need to do the following.
1. Fix AC and maybe the controls and cables or whatever moves the butterflies in the ducting?
2. Wipers stuck in mid position on windshield. Not sure how to tackle that issue. Assume it is under the dash.
3. Key turns in the housing
4. Work on the push button assembly. I have seen some good posts on this.

thanks for the web site Gary, and Joe Suchy, and all the member help. It is invaluable. From a new guy digging a hole to today has been a good experience.
