You can also look at the picture of the air cleaner and see the tourquise spray paint on it . Now the air cleaner was not on the eng. when the block was painted. so how did the paint get there ? eng touched up not with 777 miles on it UNLESS those miles where mostly at the drag strip. Ah lets see 1/4 mile or maybe 1/8 mile 777 miles thats alot of abuse.  I to have seen this car at Carlise. surviver yes , drag strip miles maybe, touch up paint yes,  777 miles no way Jose


i also live in a barn ,,,with 2, 65  dodges and 4 other vechicles ,so i guess my cars are all barn finds,

My friend is over in Iraq now, My car was found in Iraq during the war and shipped home.  That's why it has no rust.  The car is being restored now that it's back home.  When my friend gets back here the car will have a set of license plates from....IRAQ.  what a fun story it will have.  Part of Mopar legends and stuff of dictators gone awry.

Being up close and personal with this car 3 times I can shed what light on what I have observed, what I've been told, and what I know for myself. The first time I saw this car was 2005 or 2006 at a cruise night about a mile from the owners home. A nice 70's + gentalmen that passed on only a few years later. I was told the location the car was found in, a nice little community of small farms, not to reveal his source, just that it was in a barn. Now mind you not all barns are home for 4 legged animals and like my barn home only to 4 wheeled vehicles.
 
Something happened to the original owner after it was purchased. The car was left behind and was driven often by the family, maybe two to three times a month in good weather, but but only for a few miles at a time. The car sat well protected it's whole life.
 
Upon purchase of the car it was found to have many dried up gaskets and seals, some leaks, many starts with long periods of sitting. The engine compartment had oil and grease marks and appeared to be from dirty mechanics. But the owner would not have them touched, I think he felt them to be a badge of honor.
 
Who knows the real mileage of this car, does it matter, you be the judge. I can tell you this, the car is unrestored, there is not one mark of road rash anywhere I could see. The chrome, stainless, glass, the interior is something to see. The tires were unbelievable, I've not seen that many cracks since I drove the Cross Bronx Expressway.
 
The last time I saw the car was in 2009 parked next to me at a cruise, close to our home. I met the grandson for the first time. He loved his grandfather and at that time said he was just going to put the car away, I think he loved his grandfather more than this car.
 
Many people have seen this car at Carlisle under the Survivor Tent back in 2008. I've attached a photo that was sent to me of this event. Maybe it will come out to play again this year, I just hope it doesn't park next to me at a show.
 
Oh, and one more thing, next time you're at a cruise or car show and someone asks you where did you find your car, just tell them in a barn, it's where tall tales begin....

Yeah, without a detailed history of the car it can't be proven one way or the other. Nick's note that his offer to detail the car was refused is interesting: if the Plymouth was detailed and made to show cleaner it would be easier to pass it off as a very low mileage car.  Who knows what lurks in the mind of that owner? LOL

It's almost always "buyer beware" in car sales, is it not? :)  

Anyhow, we all agree that that 1962 Sport Fury is a great car and a Mopar most anyone on this mail list would not mind owning!
