All pushbuttons are not created equal. The type used in Ford related applications had issues. The Mopar pushbutton design has superior reliability. Be glad that is what you have. :) 

Yes. Borg-Warner based, called: Lincoln - Turbodrive, Ford -Cruise-o-matic / Ford-o-matic, Mercury Multimatic / Merc-o-matic, Nash & Rambler - Flashomatic, Studebaker & Packard - Flightomatic.
