Thank you for keeping us updated on Dodger. It seems like he has a
good attitude; just hope he can stay off the leg till he gives it time to
heal. Somehow I think Dodger will find it hard to be sedentary.

Subject: Dodger is out of ICU I went
to see Dodger today and he is out of the ICU and in room 7303B.
He has a
bunch of Saran Wraplike stuff wound around his leg and some black sponge rubber
shoved in the wound areas as a siphon with a suction constantly pulling out the
nasty stuff. The affected area is a couple spots with one on the inside of the
calf shaped like a canoe and about 4" wide in the middle and 9" long. (Eyeball
guessimate) The other one is on the otherside of his shinbone and about half
that size. Of course he also has a long incision going clear up to his groin on
the inside of his leg. And they have decided he
does have diabetes now.
He is scheduled to go home
in the next couple days if all goes well with a visiting nurse stopping in about
every other day for meds, site cleaning/inspection and ???? His son is taking
his Dakota home tonight so only one person is needed to chauffeur him home.
It will be a change of
life style for him but he has a good attitude and says he won't have any trouble
coping with the diabetes.
