Headliner with exposed bows

I'd asked advice on this last summer, but since we have a lot of new
members and I'm getting ready to dive in, I thought I'd ask again.

I need to replace my original headliner for my 63 Polara 500. The
stainless bows are exposed with the headliner sandwiched between them
and the roof. I like the look and want to keep it. The headliner
itself is less like perforated cloth and more like some kind of
'foamish' squishy material with a hard backing board underneath. It's
completely deteriorating into small flaky pieces that fly all over the
place. Below are a couple of pictures.

Does anyone know a source for this 'foamy' headliner material?
Does anyone know what it's called?

When I was in Carlisle in July, the experts at Legendary had no clue
(I brought samples to their tent). Walking the field, I looked into
every 62 to 65 car that was there and didn't find ANY with the exposed
bows; everything had the bows hidden and a more typical perforated
vinyl material.

I'd really love to find the original material, but if I have to I
guess I'll settle for something close.

As always, thanks.
