Re: Friday the 13th LeRoar

The 24" dia Drag radials worked fine.  I didn't have any serious issues with traction.  I'm wondering if maybe I should jump up to a slightly taller tire as the street tires did a 9.44 on only one run and the first one at that.  I think they would have improved if I had kept experimenting with them.  I do have a friend with some 26"dia slicks that offered them to me to try.  I would have to mount them on my street tire wheels.  I just may try that later.  I won't be back to the track for a few weeks as I kinda shot my budget with an extra $300 expense for the pooped out fuel pump issue.  That a new pump and the flatbed when the new pump crashed too.  Dodger believes it's just a bad pump but I'm dubious as that's a lot of coincidence.  I think I'll get ahold of the Holley tech line and get some opinions and then start to get it back together.  Thanks to Nico I will have another pump to help troubleshoot and at least have for a back-up.

Rich,

How did the small Drag Radials work?  Did you spin them at all?

I had a great time and consider it a success. I am sure there is more in it as this was the first time with the new set-up and it still sports the tuning from the stock heads and much smaller cam. The fuel pump issue is irrelevant. It's like a flat tire and just needs to be fixed. Too bad I couldn't get it done at the track easier so I had to spend extra money on a car 'Limo :-)

Have no fear, I do feel there are 8's in the future!!!!

BTW, what bug? No problem I'll bring some "spray" :-)

Thanks for the report Rich! Sounds like a fun time, even with the pump glitch.

That would be high 13s with the Poly 318 in a relatively heavy car! Very impressive. :)

Thanks,
Gary H.
