Brass Feeler Gauge- was '64 Sport Fury won't start.

Brass feeler gauge.

I know you are supposed to use brass but why? Does it have to do with conductivity of steel and no conductivity for brass?  Just curious.

Be sure to use brass feeler gauge.  Other will kill the relucter.
