Is there a meeting place to hook up Friday at the Nats? My wife and I will be cruising Friday nite in Heath on rte 79
as usual. If you see a puke green 64 Polara, that's us!

Accu Weather is only at 35% chance, with less than a half hour of precip,
tenth of an inch max. Takes atleast a 75% chance around here to make it
rain lately. Doubt it amounts to much. The little rain we've had has been
    early morning or late night.

I was wanting to come but it's not looking good for me. Dodger has said he
can't make it either. Hopefully another time.

Bummer. You'd enjoy that old track. It'd make you feel like that '64 was
    new again !!
I'm still planning on stopping by during the Geezer Drags.

    Hi all,

I don't remember anyone reporting if the 62-65 "in-person" opportunity at the "Mopar Survivors" tent at the Carlisle show last month was successful.

But August has another opportunity, this time at the Mopar Nationals http://www.moparnats.org/ -- Mel Major's Mopar Survivors will also be set up there.

    Anyone going?

    Thanks,

I want to the one in Woodburn Oregon last month. It was fun and saw two 62 Dodges and a lot of 64 330/440. The swap meet was a wash though.

Took my Polara for nice highway cruise about 40 miles north of where I live. [Saskatoon, SK] Waldheim was celebrating their 100th b-day on Saturday with a car show and a few other things, and wanted to get 100 cars to show up. Well they got 109. The first three pics are of my 65 Polara and my buddy's 66 Monaco 'vert. The next 14 are pretty self explanatory cool rides. The last two are of the entire show and shine taken from the baseball stands behind home plate. The 2 reasons I call it a hick town is because #1. I'm originally from another small town fairly close by. And yeah, they're both populated by hicks. #2. The concession stand sold a total of six items. Nacho's, popcorn, two flavours of slushies, cotton candy, and these terrible tasting, dried out brownie things and THAT'S IT. No burgers, no hot dogs, no ice cream, NADDA. Not sure if I should look at this one as glass half full or empty. Empty for the concession stand blowing chunks. Full for the fact that me and a buddy got to take our cars for a scenic little drive this weekend.

Thanks for the report. Sounds like fun car show overall, despite the culinary shortfall. Maybe the show organizers thought people were going to bring their own food in coolers? Anyhow, you'll be prepared if you go next year! :)

Best place to start is your local windshield installer. They will often
have windshields but not back glass. That is where i found mine for a 64

Yes, it is good to check local vendors. There are also some windshield vendors and glass search utilities on the 62-65 Vendor's page, http://1962to1965mopar.ornocar.com/restoration-sources.html in the "Body - Sheet Metal / Bumpers - Gas Tanks" section.

I got the 300 brakes situation worked out pretty well.

With new plugs, cap/etc, and wires the engine sounds pretty good.

On a short test drive when I hit the brakes the engine will stall. If I
come to a real easy rolling stop then it's fine.

I turned the engine idle up higher then normal out of curiosity and it
    still stalls.

What could this be? Timing? Carb needs rebuilt?

    Thanks

    I'm guessing that being a 300 it's got power brakes?? Sounds like a vacuum problem.Date: Wed, 8 Aug 2012 10:50:29 -0700

I got the 300 brakes situation worked out pretty well. With new plugs, cap/etc, and wires the engine sounds pretty good. On a short test drive when I hit the brakes the engine will stall. If I come to a real easy rolling stop then it's fine. I turned the engine idle up higher then normal out of curiosity and it still stalls. What could this be? Timing? Carb needs rebuilt? Thanks

Close off the vacumn line from the power booster. It may be just the
fitting is shot. Try that if that is not it it problaby the booster.

Could also be the float in the carb is set too low, or the fuel pump is
not pumping well. Low fuel in the carb can slosh forward and the car will
die as no fuel is left in the bowl for the car to run. behaves like it
just ran out a gas, and it does...sort of. That was a fun problem that
took me a long time to figure out one summer a long time ago.

That is what I would look for if clamping off the power brake vacuum line
    doesn't solve the problem.

I remember a mechanic who worked on the Mopard with these manifolds back in the late 1960s telling me that to reduce maintenance they often took these 2x4 manifolds off and replaced them with a single 4 bbl intake. Get this: they usually tossed the long 2x4 intake manifolds into the dumpster. Ouch.
