We are nearing the Geezer Drags event at the Mid-America Motorplex Rolling Thunder Dragstrip in Iowa near Council Bluffs.

We have been recruiting members to gather and have a good time. So far it looks like Steve Micks, Rodger (Dodger) Petigrew, Ollie Patterson, Paul Lenneman, George Smith, Doug J and myself will be attending.

As of right now we are planning a BBQ at my house in Omaha on Fri, the 24th, from maybe 4ish to ????

Then on Sat, the 25th, the gates open at 3pm so we were planning a lunch get together at Quaker Steak and Lube in Council Bluffs. Tentatively maybe about 1pm??? Then the event will last till 11pm on Sat.. The Sat schedule is test and tune till 5:30 and then a car show at 6pm.

Sunday, the 26th, the gates open at 8am and it will continue to 4pm. After the event is over we were thinking of going to Famous Daves BBQ also in Council Bluffs for a farewell dinner. The Sun schedule is test and tune 10 to noon and racing starts at 12:30.

Not everyone will attend all events but some of us will. I'm not sure who will be bringing their 62-65's but I for one will have LeRoar there. I imagine Paul will bring his '63 Plymouth but not sure if he will race???? Chime in here Paul :-) George wants to get his '64 Dodge to at least one segment of events but has issues with visiting relatives to work around. I think Dodger mentioned he wanted to bring his 63-65 (?) down for the Show.

Gary Futrell and Herb have shown interest and I hope they can make it. It'll be a really fun time to tell lies :-)

Doug and Steve are going to stay at the Microtel Inn in Council Bluffs and the Quaker Steak and Lube is near the motel. It's also near the Casino's.

I would like to get an approximate head count for my BBQ but I won't turn away any unannounced late comers. I should set up something with the restaurants too with approx numbers.
