Re: early hemi question

Nice story, Jim.  This is why more and more I try to indulge my wife with her interests that I don't particularly share.  She really goes the extra mile in me in letting me do my car thing.

I think so.  Kind of funny story behind it.

Warning: Stop reading if want to read about cars and not about wives
and troubles and such.

First, let me say I love my wife and her tolerance of my Mopar
sickness.  When I heard about the engine, I'm thinking, how can I
justify driving to Pittsburgh for a broken engine I don't need?  Well,
one of my young son's loves roller coasters and we travel a lot to go
to different coaster parks.  So, I figure I'll take him out to
Kennywood Park near Pittsburgh.  And as long as we're out that way,
I'll bring a trailer for the engine.  And as long as we're passing by,
we'll stop at the Carlisle Mopar show for a day.  Good plan.

But on Father's Day a week or two before, my son and I are on the
Coney Island Cyclone, and on a very sharp turn I slide over in the
seat and squish my son and break his collar bone.  Not too big a deal
and he healed fine.  But here's how the next conversation went with my
wife:

Wife: So, I guess you're not going to Pittsburgh next week.
Me: Well, I kind of still have to.
W: Why?  Sean can't ride anything.
M: Well, I kind of bought an engine in Pittsburgh.
W: Why?
M: Because it's an early Hemi and a great deal.
W: So which of your 5 cars is it going in?
M: None.
W: So why do you need it?
M: Because it's cool.
W: So what are you going to with it?
M: Rebuild it and build a rat rod.
W: So which car are you going to get rid of?
M: Ummmmm .... but it's an early Hemi.
W: (She turns around, throws her hands in the air and walks out of the kitchen.)

Anyway, I got the engine, had fun hanging out in the Hampton Inn
parking lot at Carlisle drinking beer and looking at it with my Mopar
buddies.  And we're still married.  Did I mention that I love my wife?
