I believe the main difference between a “A”, “B”, and “C” is on the “C” the caliper bracket is different and allows the larger rotors to be used. Of the two types of calipers available which one is preferred? Also what year proportioning valve to look for?

For myself IF I knew the "right" parts I needed,I'd go the junkyard route.BUT I don't know the right numbers to go after therefore I'd go the way your referring too ie. Scarebird route

Subject: Disc brake conversion

Hey everybody.  Can y'all tell me what I need to do a disc brake conversion on my 65 Polara.  It's a single master manual set up.  I would like to add a power booster to it.

I know one thing for sure.  The MC from a 67 to like 72 C-body will bolt up, from what I've been told.  The booster I'm not sure of.  Or even if I can add one, given there's a 440 where the 318 use to be.

I am thinking about buying a kit from Scarebird.com cuz they say you can use your original spindles, which would make things easier.  They also say that with their kit you have to buy off the shelf parts to complete assembly, such as 94-99 Dodge Ram callipers and 70-72 Ford galaxy rotors.  They say for hoses they'll send part numbers versus length comparisons.  Here is a link.

Now having this info would you do it this way or would you go the junk yard route and piece everything together?  Has anyone on the list used Scarebird products and how was your experience?  Any input would be appreciated as the last time I drove my car I was two footin' it and it still didn't really like it should.  Even with drum brakes it should've stopped way sooner.

Thanks
Cory 65 Polara 440/727
