 How do you lower the pressure in the pump  and is there any down side
to doing that?.............MO

Lowering the pressure in the pump brings a lot of road feel to the steering system.   You did look at the rest of the frontend? When I rebuilt mine in the truck I actually had to learn how to drive it again.  The box may not be that worn, the rest or even just one piece will create a lot of slop.
