Re: 1965 Coronet door panels in red?

If you need the top metal pieces, I have an extra pair from my 64 Polara 2 dr. HT.

Tim,
Reading your post.......”They said without the top part it is impossible...”
I think what you are missing is the metal piece that goes across the top of the door panel. This is the piece that holds the whiskers and where you lay your arm with the window down. This piece will not come with a new door panel.
Any upholstery shop should be able to make a door panel without a old one for a pattern.

Subject: 1965 Coronet door panels in red?

I am in need of some door panels for a 2Dr Hardtop.  The kid I bought the car from orginally re-did the seats with a custom material.  He didn't have the door panels so, I figured I would just order some from Classic Industries.  I ordered http://www.classicindustries.com/mopar/parts/mb120502.html in Red & the color matched perfect.  I contacted Classic Industries & got the run around and finally was told their panels they sell wouldn't match because they only come in Maroon.

So anyway's I have a few friends & neighbors that know interior people, so I figured I would give it a shot.  I had 3 come over so far & none will do the car due to it not having the old door panels.  They said without the top part it is impossible...  Seems strange but I am not a interior guy so if 3 say the same thing I guess I believe them?

So now what?  Does anyone know a good interior person that is in the SoCal area that will do it without having the originals?   I could just redo the seats back to the maroon & be done, but that seems wasteful since the seats are brand new.

Here are a few pictures of what the interior looks like so far.
Thanks for any help!
