I assume you mean the mechanism that holds the trunk open and up. I've seen two different styles of this. One was on the driver's side and used a spring in a tube, like this:

 and the other style was on the passenger side but used a ratcheting rectangular style prop. It was used on '64s and some 65s. I had one but can't seem to find it right now. I send a pic direct to you if I find it.
