Re: plastic defroster ducts

The "black" duct tape Mike refers to is "Gorilla" tape. Some of the best and stickest duct tape I've ever came across. It works great for reinforcing the plastic parts when needed.

Mike,

As we all know, these things are unbelievably fragile. Probably why you can't find them anywhere. As crazy as it sounds black duct tape works well.  I tried epoxy and super glue. the problem is they simply fracture beyond the glued part.  When I "restored" mine, i used a combination of foil HVAC tape and black Duct tape. Both can be purchased at home Depot or Lowes.  The foil tape works very well when forming around the contours and the duct tape is a great "blanket" reinforcement. then used flat black paint for the final color finish. I might have some shots on my home computer to attach this weekend.  Good Luck with your Resto. !!!
