My first thought is to have a new distributor and attendant parts (no 
wear...) like a Mopar Performance Electronic Ignition conversion package or 
the more expensive Crane/Mallory/MSD packages.

I would not want to "add" an electronic conversion module to operate on my 
very old (formerly) points distributor.
