I put a rebuilt transmission in the 440. Was trying to adjust the shifter cable by myself but was having trouble adjusting it using the procedure in the manual. I then remembered a post about using the neutral safety switch to adjust the cable. I had the pan off and could see the lever and switch. It worked like a charm. 
Thanks that is just one of the benefits of being a part of this group.
