Re: Auction: 1965 Fury II -- 1963 Polara 500

More likely this is one of those "location location location" happenstances. That 1963 Polara 500 was part of a large private collection of mixed brands that was put up for auction. The cars in that collection were all real nice.

Typical, Mopars at the auction were in a distinct minority. Probably more so in this event. A sea of Chebby & Fords.

The Dodge looked as nice as an original 11,500 mile car would look. I think the 1963 500 was simply not recognized by the crowd watching that auction for the unique top-of-the line B Body the 500 was in 1963. It was a real steal. I don't know for sure, but I would not be surprised if the 500 was purchased by a dealer to "flip" at a future event.

Thanks,
Gary H.

Please address private email -- email of interest to only one person -- directly to that person. That is, email your parts/car transactions and negotiations, as well as other personal messages, only to the intended recipient. Do not just press "reply" and send your email to everyone using the general '62-'65 Clubhouse public email address. This practice will protect your privacy, reduce the total volume of mail and fine-tune the content signal to Mopar topic. Thanks!
