Re: Funky but functional rearview mirror

Sure, all the Newport's, Nyer's 300's and Imperials had those.  Most of them where remote on the drivers side, and manual on the pass side.  It took me forever to find the remote one for the pass side, yes they made them, rare as a dodo bird.  They look like this....

I think 59ish through 1964 all the full size boats and the 59ish - 1966 Imperials.  I've seen them on all the Mopar makes, but know stock on the Chryslers and Dodge 880's and Imperials and Desoto. Not sure about the Plymouths and smaller cars....but it's just a mirror, can easily be added at home or a dealer if not stock.

Here's something that has bugged me forever.  When I bought my 1st '63 Plymouth Fury ,, it had a mirror about a third of the way up the left front fender.  Once you had that thing adjusted, it was great.  You could move the seat back and forth to wherever and it was always perfectly adjusted.  I'm sure it was factory.  The Sport Fury's I've had since just have the little one on the door .  aint worth shit.  Anyone else have that mirror down the fender ?  Was it an option?  It was alot "fancier" than the little one on the door.  The mirror moved inside the housing as opposed to being a one piece unit.

I found a rearview mirror that I think is going to work OK for the right side. It's a $27 clamp on and I was having a dickens of a time figuring out how I could install it. Here's a pic of what I finally did to it.  I am going to put a bubble mirror on the face of the standard flat mirror and then it should be OK.

Like I said it's a bit funky looking but I can get it adjusted  good enough for the driver.
