Reading between the lines here. IMO Mopar would not manufacture a car with that equipment. (slicks??) Maybe a Dodge dealer like Westlake would do that. The Auction makes it sound like it was factory .

Gary, How did those SOHC Fords do against the Mopars?................................MO

Hi all,

Saw an estate auction listing today. Not quite 1965, but we had a discussion about these Darts here a while back. You could probably make a similar pre-66 Dart, though I don't know what "lightweight" features the '66 had.

1966 Dodge D-Dart Lightweight and 1966 Dodge D-Dart Lightweight Trans Am Race Car-- each claimed
1 of 50 Produced.

There are also a couple 1965 Mercury Comets, including a 427 SOHC A/FX Super Cyclone Driven by Dyno Don Nicholson. I was lucky enough to see this Comet race our favorite Mopars back then.
