I dont have the answer but my 65 D200 does the same thing. If I run and drive it once a week it's fine. Let it sit for a month or more both the brake master and clutch master almost dry. no visable leaks anywhere and no signs of fluid in the cab from the firewall.

Subject: So, where did my brake fluid go?

We got our Belvedere out of winter hibernation today.  We keep it at my buddy's place about 25 miles away from home.  It fired right up like it had just run 5 minutes ago - after sitting since November.  The new fuel pump I put in last year must have made a big difference.  It ran like a top.  When I put my foot on the brake pedal to shift it into gear, the pedal went to the floor.  No pressure at all.  We did a quick check of all of the lines, hoses, and wheel cylinders, and no signs of any leaks anywhere.  We checked the master cylinder and it was almost empty, so we added fluid to the master cylinder and were able to get the pressure back up to normal.  We topped it off and drove it home with absolutely no problems or change in pedal pressure.  There wasn't even any air in the system as far as I could feel.  Since it's a closed system, I'm puzzled as to where the fluid could have gone without some kind of leak somewhere.  Could it be that the seal on the master cylinder lid is shot and allowed the fluid to evaporate over the 5-6 months it was sitting?  We haven't had this problem any other spring after storage.  I haven't done a more thorough check yet, but the fact that the pedal was just fine the whole way home seems to indiate there aren't any hidden leaks.  Anyone have a guess as to what happened?

Thanks,
