Re: Door weatherstripping 64 Plymouth Sport Fury 2dr htop

Butch,
Dave is a nice guy. I have used them a lot on different vehicles. In fact I just bought a bunch of stuff for my Rambler.

Thanks Ollie. Your are right. I called R/S and talked to Dave. He explained that they actually make that piece themselves and that it is better than what ever else is out there./Butch

I've done a lot of work on my 64 PLY SF 2dr htop. Now I hope to keep the rain out! I found OEM windlace and put it in.  Fits well, looks great.

I bought the door gasket set # 990810 B HTOP/CONV A PILLAR from Restoration Specialties. There are 4 pieces in the set, 2 for each side. One piece of WS going to each side is self-evident for the install. There is a rubber covered metal plate in the leading edge of the WS that screws to the upper door frame. The rest of that strip snaps into an existing channel on the upper frame.

The other two pieces, one for each side, that's a bit of a mystery. If anyone has used this WS kit, I'd like to talk to you. It's a little hard to post photos of black WS, so won't until/unless someone talks to me. I think the WS glues to the DOOR frame. I don't recall this being on my original car in 64, but it might be something developed in later years when people figured out it was needed? I think it has to go on the door frame because the kit is for A pillar cars AND convertibles.

All the best on this great Memorial Day weekend. Semper Fi,
Butch
