Don't forget the Don D remedy ...a metal gasket between block and mechanical fuel pump. Acts as a heat sink. I believe the template is on the 62-65 website.

Maybe getting an insulating wrap on the fuel would help. I'll save an electric pump as a last resort. Also running 3/8" fuel line
