Re: LeRoar's progress

Mo the pistons are ceramic coated.  I just cleaned the tops with some naptha and a toothbrush.  I was using Valvoline VR-1 but switched to Mobil 1.  Yes I do add ZDDP.

I do have a spare good block and another with a broken trans mount tab, I use the defective one as a mock up for checking how things might work.  I used it for the Ford Mustang header comparo.  It's a good hands on show and tell too.  I also have two spare cranks, etc, etc..  I can always build another but it'd be more costly as I'd have to get the pistons, rods, cam, etc,etc..

I have the good stuff in this block and even if the top end is stock(ish) it'll be a better package.  It should be excellent in hot climes!  I may have to block off the radiator in the winter :-)

Actually that is not a bad idea. Rich probably has some spare poly parts stored away. You can often find a Poly engine for not much. (I ended up selling for scrap steel a poly 318 short block a year ago, for example.) Build one complete motor as a gas sipper and another as a torque monster. When the urge hits, pull one motor and pop in the other.  :)

Thanks,
