RE: Hyd valve adjustment

I have never adjusted Mopar hydraulic lifters because they are not adjustable on stock B/RB or LA engines but I suspect the adjustment for your engine conversion will be the same as I remember doing on GM engines when I worked as a mechanic years ago (who am I kidding it was decades ago). I would do it while the engine was running, backing off on the rocker arm nut until it was clacking pretty good than slowly tightening until the clacking stopped. Than I would tighten the nut with another 3/4 turn made in three 1/4 turns. Yes it would make an oily mess, better equipped mechanics had oil shields in place during this procedure. You had me dust off a few way back brain cells with this question.

I have a cam, lifters and pushrods that are to convert my poly from solids to hydraulic.  They were not offered in 1964 so my manual doesn't give any info.  I was of the opinion that the procedure was to rotate the cam to baseline on a valve,  tighten just to take up the slack and then turn it X turns after that.  I also need the value of X if this is correct :-) Can anyone verify this or give me the proper method?  I do realize the lifter needs to be pumped up for the process and I can do this by running the oil pump with a drill motor.

Any input will be appreciated.
