Re: ID'ing a 727/904 from the Front and Top

So, according to the info I found on the referenced site, there is no way to identify the original poster's trannies from the front or top.
The numbers are on the pan rail and can only be seen from the side (or maybe the bottom) or with a borescope or similar device.
Bummer!

If this is a 65 cable shift tranny, you are going to have problems.Since it is,a rear rear pump system tranny not every thing will fit.So check and see if you have a cable shift or a linkage shift system tranny. Also if you want the tranny ID and all the info on it,go to our web site:  www.Mymopar.com  and check out our tool reference section for chassis and powertrain for the serial number s of the tranny to find out the true application of the tranny. You will have a PP or  PK at the front of the ID number, then a 7 digit number, thats the part number, then a 4 digit code, build date, then a 4 digit code for the unit unit. All that info I have here in my decoding books for you.If you have problems, call or email me at :   penstarperformance@xxxxxxxxx  or 450 424 0445H 514 659 0445cell,mrmopartech
