There is an interesting article pondering the history of some 1964 Hemi heads just purchased by Steve Mags. He guesstimates how few 1964 Hemis were made:
"Let’s not forget the fact Chrysler’s Marine and Industrial division also offered the 426 Hemi for use in ski boats and plenty of loose heads and blocks were undoubtedly sold for field replacement use. But gathered together, it is safe to assume that no more than 500 426 Hemi engines (or parts to assemble them) were manufactured in 1964."
