Re: Hesitation/shuddering at idle and low speed, any suggestions

I would take the air cleaner off and look down in the carb while idling and you will propably see an overflow of gas dumping in the venturis everytime it stumbles..that indicates float is set to high or perhaps  trash in the needle and seat ..my 440 with the afb did the same thing and I pulled the top off the carb and reset the floats and now it's fine

Subject: Hesitation/shuddering at idle and low speed, any suggestions

I have a 65 Coronet, 383.  Recently I've noticed that while idling, about every 30 seconds or so the engine gives a shudder.  That's about the best I can describe it.  Only lasts for a second or so, then idles fine.  At low speed, not accelerating, I seem to get an occasional hesitation.  If I accelerate, it seems fine.  Any suggestions on what I should look for?
